When she began her Senate race against Nevada's popular Republican Congressman Joe Heck in 2016, Catherine Cortez Masto stood more than 20 points down in the polls.
Working through Chambers Lopez Strategies® for the Senate Majority Pac and SEIU Cope (and with Bob heading a creative team of 4 bi-lingual writers), Yellow Whale helped create a focused Spanish language ad campaign that galvanized Latino voters across the state.
The result? Cortes Masto achieved a surprise upset victory, making her not only the first female Senator from Nevada, but also the first Latina elected to the Senate in U.S. history.
It seemed like an impossible task - convincing Massachusetts voters to oppose a ballot measure that would allow more types and varieties of stores to sell alcohol. And at the outset, voters supported Question One by nearly a two-to-one margin.
But with hard-hitting copy by ad legend Gene Case, backed by the voice talents of Carolyn NcCormick, our controversial campaign turned voter opinions upside down.
The result? Question One was overwhelmingly defeated on election day by nearly 10 points, In what the Boston Globe called "a stunning come-from-behind victory."
